In recognition of its contributions to the commercial real estate sector, Lulu Tech Park in Kerala has been conferred the prestigious “Excellence in Commercial Real Estate – IT & Technology Park” award. This highlights the role the park could play in Kerala's commercial office spaces. The award stands as proof of the park's commitment to sustainable architecture and cutting-edge technology.
This excellence award comes at a very pivotal moment for the Lulu Group. Lulu is expanding its footprint in the IT sector. This has become more evident, most notably with the recent inauguration of the Lulu IT Twin Towers at SmartCity, Kochi. The project is developed with an investment exceeding ₹1,500 crore. In fact, it has been billed as South India’s largest and tallest IT complex. The park is designed to accommodate over 30,000 professionals.
After receiving the honour, the Lulu group has dedicated it to its commitment towards bridging the gap between global technology demands and local infrastructure. The park has become a magnet for multinational giants, including IBM, which recently launched its largest AI Innovation Centre on campus.
The Managing Director of the group emphasised the group’s commitment to the state's growth. Mr M A Yusuff Ali is clear about the vision that the company has for the future of IT parks and allied infrastructure in Kerala. Speaking at an event, The vision of the Lulu Group is to provide world-class infrastructure that encourages our youth to work within their home state. These IT parks are developing into the ecosystems that drive re-migration and fuel Kerala’s digital economy.
The selection committee that chose Lulu techpark for the award was impressed by the group's environmental commitment. They specifically noted Lulu Techpark’s adherence to environmental standards and technological firsts.
The campus is LEED Platinum-certified, featuring smart resource management systems that significantly lower its carbon footprint. Lulu IT Twin Towers represents a significant step in strengthening Kochi as an emerging hub for global enterprises and technology-driven businesses.
The selection committee noted a host of outstanding features when honouring the park with the excellence award –
The award is expected to provide a significant impetus to the techpark and co-working spaces in Kerala. In fact, the award has positioned Lulu Techpark as the premier destination for commercial office spaces in Kochi, Kerala.
Following this honor, the group already has several plans in the kitty. After the success of the Twin Towers, a further investment of ₹500 crore has been announced for a new IT tower at Infopark Phase 2. The project is expected to create an additional 7,500 jobs.
Abhilash Valiyavalappil, Director and CEO of Lulu IT Parks, explained the system's impact –
"There are 33 floors, including three levels of car parking,..... In a way, the twin towers are an IT park by themselves. One with grandeur at its best.”
Even the government of Kerala has been a vocal supporter of the project. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, during the park’s inauguration, highlighted the project's role in the state's digital leap –
“The State requires development, and such initiatives require the cooperation and support of everyone, including the government and the Opposition, and we are seeing it happening,” the CM stated during his address.
The “Excellence in Commercial Real Estate – IT & Technology Park” award is more than just a trophy for the Lulu Group. It is an indicator of what the Lulu Group can achieve further in the future.
The award stands as proof that the global tech community is eyeing Kerala as a huge solution for the future. The combination of South India’s tallest towers, Asia’s largest robotic parking system, and a zero-carbon vision makes Lulu techpark a leader the world can follow.
Kochi continues its ascent as a "Silicon Coast”. In this journey, Lulu Techpark stands as the gold standard for excellence. That should prove that local infrastructure can indeed meet—and exceed—global expectations. And as M.A. Yusuff Ali rightly states, “….. this is just the beginning for us, and we have many more milestones to achieve”.
